Rostov Region, November 14, 2025, DON24.RU. A former employee of the Russian Federal Prison Service in the Rostov region was convicted of accepting bribes. This was reported by the press service of Russia's Rostov Regional Investigation Directorate. The verdict was made on the basis of evidence collected by the Aksai regional investigation agency of the Investigation Department of the Regional Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation. “The investigation and the court established that in January 2025, the defendant, using his official position, received, through the wife of one of the convicted, a bribe in the amount of 40 thousand rubles for bringing a mobile phone into the territory of the pre-trial detention center and delivering it to the convicted person,” the source said. The illegal actions were revealed during search operations of the General Internal Affairs Directorate of the Russian Federal Correctional Service in the Rostov region. The bribe money was confiscated from the defendant. The court sentenced the former employee to four years in prison in a maximum security facility. In addition, he was fined 400 thousand rubles and deprived of the right to hold positions in civil service for a period of 3 years. Previously, it was reported that the Investigative Committee would open a criminal case regarding possible violations of the rights of an 11-year-old resident of Donetsk with special needs.
