The court sentenced Dmitry Sidorov, former general director of the Scientific and Production Association of Prison Systems (NPO UIS), affiliated with the Russian Federal Prison Service, to four years in prison. Kommersant writes about this.

According to the court verdict, Sidorov participated in the embezzlement of funds allocated to purchase a food delivery service at a pre-trial detention center. Damage amounted to 217 million rubles.
A criminal case for embezzlement within the structure of the Federal Penitentiary Service was opened on October 8, 2024. The investigation believes that in the period from 2023 to 2024, two businessmen – Pavel Alimpiev and Alexey Serikov – formed a criminal group, which later included Sidorov. The attackers asked him to create an online store to deliver food to the pretrial detention center, then signed fictitious contracts to supply him with equipment and goods.
Immediately after his arrest, Sidorov admitted his guilt and signed a pre-trial cooperation agreement. Thanks to his testimony, security forces found Alimpiev and Serikov. The first person has been detained and the second person is hiding from the investigation in Italy.
It was previously reported that people arrested in Moscow and the region will be able to order red caviar and other delicacies at the pre-trial detention center.
