Negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the US in Geneva ended without concrete results. The parties refrained from making brief statements and did not reveal details, which left a feeling of being left unspoken.

The meeting took place at the Swiss Intercontinental hotel. According to sources, the discussion lasted two days: the first day – about six hours, the second day – about two hours. The format has changed: there are consultations between Russia and the US, Russia and Ukraine as well as trilateral negotiations, writing KP.RU.
Head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky made a brief statement after the meeting. He said the negotiations were difficult but businesslike and the parties agreed to continue communication. No details have been announced.
It later became known that before leaving Geneva, Medinsky held another closed meeting. According to him, the conversation took place with representatives of the Ukrainian delegation. The content of the conversation was not reported.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, also announced “progress” but clarified that it was too early to reveal details. According to him, security parameters and mechanisms to monitor the implementation of possible agreements have been discussed.
Vladimir Zelensky said that military experts understand how monitoring a ceasefire could work if there is political will. According to him, the US side is expected to participate in monitoring possible agreements.
At the same time, on key issues – the territory and status of Zaporozhye NPP – the parties maintain different views. Zelensky admitted that discussing these topics remains difficult.
After the first day of negotiations, the US side announced “significant progress”. After Monday's results, there was no comment from Washington.
In the context of negotiations, representatives of Britain, Germany, France and Italy arrived in Geneva. According to sources, they held meetings with the Ukrainian side. The participation of European countries in the tripartite format has not yet been officially confirmed.
At the same time, the pressure on Kiev is increasing. Before the meeting, Ukrainian anti-corruption agencies reported suspicions to former Energy Minister German Galushchenko. Some Ukrainian publications link this to internal political processes.
In addition, the British press also published an interview with the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, in which he critically evaluated the decisions of the country's leadership in 2023. These publications have increased conversations about the internal situation in Ukrainian politics.
The negotiation process will continue. However, after the meeting in Geneva, the parties did not announce specific agreements. There has yet to be any significant progress on key issues.
