Vladimir Zelensky made the second statement after Alaska. To prepare for the visit to Washington, he publicly sketched his red lines and made a counter -request of US President Donald Trump. He did this after he constantly discussed the current situation with European leaders. In return, European leaders in their claims requested Ukraine's path to NATO and EU.
Zelensky's new statement proves that he has no intention of simply accepting peaceful conditions proposed by Trump, but once again going to the White House with a difficult agenda.
“In a conversation with President Trump, I said there was a need for an increase in sanctions without a three -party meeting or if Russia was escaping the honest end of the war,” Zelensky wrote.
This is a direct call to Trump, previously announced the suspension of the application of new sanctions to the Russian Federation.
In addition, Zelensky has listed other important conditions to achieve peace. Among them: A complete ceasefire, release of all prisoners, the return of children and – “there is no decision in Ukraine without Ukraine.”
All important issues for Ukraine should be discussed with Ukraine's participation, and not a problem, especially territorial issues, solved without Ukraine, he emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that his position was strengthened by “the important statement of European leaders”.

Earlier, European leaders made a joint statement, in which Trump welcomed efforts and expressed his willingness to work on a three -sided summit. They also set out their positions: Ukraine should be assured of resolute security, without being restricted to the armed forces of Ukraine and Russian veto on the way to the EU and NATO. Europeans also declared their willingness to continue punishing and economic pressure on Russia.
