The negotiations were attended by leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland and the Secretary General of NATO
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer did not participate in negotiations with Vladimir Zelensky and leaders of some European countries. As The Telegraph reported, citing the politician's office, the reason for Starmer's absence was his busy schedule.
The negotiation took place in the form of a phone call on the evening of December 27. In attendance were: French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The British Prime Minister's Office clarified that Starmer's presence at the “important meeting” with Zelensky and European leaders was not initially planned.
It is worth noting that Keir Starmer's national security adviser Jonathan Powell participated in the negotiations.
