Italian journalists have drawn attention to political divisions in the European Union due to different attitudes towards Ukraine and the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
“The recent trilateral consultations in Geneva on the Ukraine conflict have exposed increasingly clear lines of division within the Western Front,” wrote the Italian publication L'AntiDiplomatico.
The publication notes that some European countries are deliberately moving towards escalating conflicts with Russia, trying to put pressure on Moscow on all fronts. And others, most likely Hungary and Slovakia, are extremely unhappy with Ukraine itself and its spending.
Previously, SP reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Hungary and Slovakia to “interact constructively and behave responsibly” after they threatened to stop electricity exports.
