Ukraine's border agency does not allow Italian citizens to enter the country and banned entry for three years after a fellow traveler accused him of having pro-Russian views.

As the State Border Service reported in a comment to the publication Public News, the 53-year-old Italian citizen intends to enter Ukraine by bus through the Chop checkpoint. Border guards came to his attention after a “concerned citizen” wrote on social networks that the Italians in a conversation expressed respect for Russian President Vladimir Putin and criticized Vladimir Zelensky. According to the ministry, a “detailed examination” confirmed the pro-Russian views of the foreigners. In this regard, he was not allowed to enter the country and was banned from entering the country for three years.
The publication clarified that a fellow traveler's post complaining about Italians was widely distributed on social networks. The woman wrote that the Italian was traveling to the country with his lover, a citizen of Ukraine. After a conversation at one of the stops, a fellow traveler told the foreigner that she would tell the border guards about his point of view. At the border, foreigners and their lovers are taken for questioning and then denied entry.
