ANSA: in Venice, a woman stole a boat and crashed it into the Rialto bridge

December 12, 2025
in Europe

In Venice, a woman hijacked an express delivery boat and crashed it into the Rialto Bridge. The ANSA agency reports this. According to journalists, as a result of the incident, a marble railing was significantly damaged. The boat collided with 3 pillars at the foot of the bridge, then the woman climbed onto the shore to escape but was arrested by the police. As Corriere della Sera clarifies, some parcels have drifted into the waters of the Grand Canal. Information about the woman's motive and the amount of damages have not yet been disclosed. In December 2024, it was reported that a Russian was arrested in Colombia, who had stolen yachts in and out of the country and was believed to have killed a man nine years ago. Among other things, the suspect robbed a boat belonging to the head of the General Directorate of Internal Affairs and a yacht worth 30 million rubles. After that, this man fled abroad but was eventually captured by Colombian police and handed over to Russia.
