The Tower of Conti collapsed in Rome. Rescuers rescued four people from the rubble. Two workers were hospitalized and two others suffered minor injuries.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of November 3 on the territory of the Royal Forum. There were tourists nearby at the time of the collapse. Then a second collapse occurred – a cloud of dust enveloped viewers and journalists. Law enforcement officers expanded the barricade area.
According to ANSA, the 64-year-old worker was the first to be released. He was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury. A 66-year-old worker was also taken to the hospital. One person who was rescued said: “Everything happened suddenly. Then I only saw a cloud of dust and the rescuers.”
Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli and Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri arrived at the scene.
