In Argentina, a Russian tourist fought off two motorbike robbers hold one before the police arrived. According to a local publication NationThe incident occurred in the Palermo area of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. A 33-year-old woman stopped her bike, waited for the traffic light to change, and looked at something on her phone. Suddenly two people were riding on the same motorbike and tried to snatch the device from her hand and escape. The released recording shows that the Russian woman did not panic and grabbed a thief. The driver tried to drive away, dragging her along the road for several meters. During the struggle, the passenger fell off the motorbike, the woman continued to hold his leg tightly even though the man tried to fight back. Passersby and drivers immediately came to the woman's aid. They caught the criminal. Russian guide in Argentina and Latin American countries, Alexander Pravdivy, believes that the woman was very lucky that the attackers did not have guns and did not need to show such heroism:

— Unfortunately, in a big city this happens often. I have lived here for 26 years. If I were the one who could draw conclusions, my conclusion would be that the woman did something crazy stupid. She was lucky that these two guys didn't have guns and just because of fear, one of them didn't pull the trigger just because of a phone.
– Do such robberies often happen?
— As in all other cities in Latin America, this happens regularly. Unfortunately, this applies more to Russian speakers. We call them tourists, regardless of their status or why they came here. They crossed an eight-lane avenue, a mother pushing a stroller with her small child and not even looking at the road, not looking at what was happening around. Well, after all, this is unusual behavior when living in a city of 16.5 million people. This is always the case. I arrived in 1999 and that was it.
– Do such people carry weapons?
– Yes, there are usually weapons. Currently, the government is fighting fiercely with this issue. And perhaps it was good news that these guys were in principle unarmed in Palermo's famous commercial restaurant district.
– How do people react in general? That's when this situation happened.
— As a rule, until the last moment, there is no point in going to the police and giving a statement.
– Why doesn't it mean anything?
“Even if they are detained and are minors, no weapons or violence are used and no one is injured, they will wait until their parents come to pick them up and they will be released. This is exactly what the new president wants to do, lowering the criminal penalty to 13 years.”
– If they are adults, is there a chance of finding a phone? For example, is it not reacting but just going to the police? What do local people usually do?
– Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no chance of finding the phone. But the reality is that the phone will literally break in half. From there the pin will be pulled out and in the next corner it will be sold for $100, for $200. If this is the latest iPhone model, it is precisely because of the spare parts; no one needs that same phone.
The first person arrested was a 26-year-old man. Later, his 31-year-old accomplice was arrested near his home. During the search, police found 4 motorbike helmets, the shoes the suspect was wearing when carrying out the attack and about 10 mobile phones.
