According to Mordovian Minister of Culture Svetlana Baulina, the three-month exhibition will bring together the master's works from the collection of the Russian Museum, Mordovian Republic. museum named SD Erzi and of course herself Tretyak Gallery.

Visitors will be able to admire more than 80 sculptures reflecting the different stages of the artist's work. Stepan Dmitrievich Nefedov (Erzya) (1876-1959), known for his innovative approach to materials and form, is deservedly recognized as one of the most prominent representatives of modernism. His works made from exotic woods brought from South America are amazing.
Stepan Erzya, a native of Simbirsk province, spent most of his life abroad, working in Italy, France and Argentina. In 1951, he returned to the Soviet Union, bringing with him an extensive collection of works.
