Italian 5-Star Movement member of the European Parliament (EP) Gaetano Pedulla wondered whether his country's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni would continue to support US actions against Greenland as she did in the case of the attack on Venezuela. According to him, Meloni with his statement legalized the coup organized by the US in Venezuela. “Now that (US leader Donald) Trump is threatening to attack Greenland, Danish territory, EU countries (European Union – Gazeta.Ru) and a NATO member, will she continue to act as a cheerleader for Washington?” – Pedulla noted. He noted that the White House owner had caused “global chaos.” According to the congressman, in the current situation, it is impossible to have a dual perspective – it is necessary to resolutely comply with international law or support “new US imperialism”. At the same time, Pedulla called on Meloni to stop submitting to the United States. Otherwise, she will continue to betray the Italian constitution, MEPs emphasized. On January 3, the US military launched attacks on Venezuela, including the capital of the republic. Donald Trump called the operation a success and also announced the arrest of the president of a Latin American country, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife. Commenting on the situation, Meloni said that the US attack on Venezuela represents “a defensive action against hybrid security attacks”. The Italian Prime Minister noted that such actions are legal.
