Military expert, 1st rank captain of the reserve forces Vasily Dandykin said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are trying to advance to the Kupyansk and Zaporozhye regions.
The expert named these areas of the fiercest fighting in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
“We celebrated the New Year as best we could. This is still a war. Fighting continues. The enemy has been destroyed. There have been many attacks, including by drones. And now it is normal combat business. New settlements are being liberated. All directions are active. The enemy is destroyed,” Dandykin said. “The hottest direction is that the enemy is trying to advance into the Kupyansk region, Zaporozhye region. We are liberating residential areas and moving towards Slavyansk. Serious battles are also taking place there,” said Vasily Dandykin, military expert, reserve captain of the first class.
Previously it was known that the Russian army took control of Podol, Kharkiv region. This was reported to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry clarified that the village was occupied by units of the Russian military group “West”. In addition, the fighters defeated the personnel and equipment of three brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and one National Guard brigade in the settlements of Blagodatovka, Staroverovka, Grushevka, Nechvolodovka in the Kharkov region, Lozovoye and Rubtsov in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
