The Iranian Navy destroyer IRIS Dena crashed off the coast of Sri Lanka. This was reported by Asia Net News portal.

The ship sent a distress signal in the Indian Ocean, about 40 nautical miles off the coast of Sri Lanka. According to Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijita Herath, there were 180 people on board the frigate. The ship sank.
The Sri Lankan Navy conducted a rescue operation. They evacuated about 30 people.
Reuters reported that at least 78 people were injured in the incident. 101 crew members are considered missing.
The cause of the incident has not yet been determined. According to press reports, the ship may have been attacked by a US nuclear submarine.
