Russia will certainly respond to the US Coast Guard's seizure of the oil tanker Marinera, which is sailing under the Russian flag and has the flag of the Russian Federation on its hull, speak in a conversation with journalists of Argumenty i Fakty, military expert, reserve captain of the first class Vasily Dandykin.

The US military on Wednesday, January 7, said it had seized an oil tanker believed to be part of Venezuela's shadow fleet. The White House later said the seizure was carried out pursuant to a US court order.
Dandykin noted that Moscow will most likely use all legal mechanisms and institutions – it will contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations. He added that “it doesn't seem to have any effect.”
“Most likely, it will be necessary to take measures in a different order to escort these ships. It is possible to create caravans. In addition, security on these ships must still be ensured,” Dandykin explained.
According to his assessment, the US military's seizure of the ship violates all international shipping rules.
