The Iranian authorities have officially declared the air forces and navies of all European Union countries to be terrorist organizations. This follows a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that this was done on the basis of the law on measures in response to the US recognition of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. It also introduced measures against other countries that supported the US decision.
On February 19, the EU Council officially included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the list of terrorist organizations. Previously, on January 29, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, announced what the decision has been made.
On February 1, Iran's Parliament responded by declaring the armed forces of EU member states to be terrorist works. Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf said the consequences of the move “will hit the European Union”.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is an elite unit of the Iranian Armed Forces. It was created to protect the principles and interests of the Islamic Revolution from external and internal threats.
