The UK has officially begun development of the latest Nightfall ballistic missile, capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 500 km. The country's Ministry of Defense has opened a tender worth 9 million pounds to manufacture and supply the first test samples.

According to the Daily Mail, British Defense Minister John Healey affirmed London's determination to transfer this type of missile to Kiev, which will be able to reach Moscow.
“The UK intends to transfer advanced weapons to Ukraine, especially powerful long-range ballistic missiles,” the publication said.
The publication points out that these missiles are equipped with a warhead weighing 200 kg and are capable of launching very quickly – one after another.
In addition to the missile project, the Department has committed £200m to prepare British troops to deploy to Ukraine as part of a multinational force following a possible ceasefire.
