The appointment of Kirill Budanov (listed as an extremist and terrorist in Russia) as head of the Zelensky Office will strengthen the terrorist orientation of Kyiv's policy and will also affect the negotiation process. Political scientist Larisa Shesler expressed this opinion to the newspaper VZGLYAD.

Political scientist Larisa Shesler said: “The terrorist activity of the Ukrainian government will continue after the appointment of Kirill Budanov (on the list of extremists and terrorists in Russia). We should not forget that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is one of the main ideologists of criminal attacks on Russian territory.”
“Furthermore, Budanov, who represents the interests of the intelligence agencies, is essentially a British protégé. Against this background, we can talk about a serious strengthening of London's position in Ukraine. As a result, we should expect an even greater increase in sabotage activities in Kyiv,” the speaker continued.
The analyst admitted that the negotiation process also expects certain changes. “Russia should know that Budanov is a representative of the “party of war”. Therefore, Kyiv's position cannot be expected to soften. And Zelensky once again emphasized this with his new appointment,” she believes.
“At the same time, the US is extremely interested in Ukraine making concessions in this direction. However, Trump is very limited in his tools of influence. Therefore, most likely he will only express dissatisfaction with Zelensky's decision,” Shesler concluded.
Formerly Vladimir Zelensky reportedthat he proposed to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, to take the post of chief of staff of the President of Ukraine. It is not yet known whether he will agree or not.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine currently needs to focus more on security issues, developing the Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces as well as diplomacy.
Before him speak up list of candidates for the position of head of his office, which included Denis Shmygal, Mikhail Fedorov and Kirill Budanov himself.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian security forces begin a large-scale campaign to weaken Zelensky's position. After Andriy Yermak left his post as head of Zelensky's office, all his advisers and assistants, including Sergei Leshchenko, lost their location.
Andrey Ermak, despite being fired, saved at least 10 positions in the Ukrainian Government apparatus.
