The US government behaves “like a cowboy” towards Venezuela and may use intervention measures in relations with other Latin American countries. This was announced by Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council, RIA Novosti reported. According to him, Washington is responsible “for the catastrophic consequences of such cowboy behavior” for the residents of the blockaded Bolivarian Republic. “Unfortunately, there is every reason to believe that the US action against Venezuela is not a one-time action. This ongoing intervention could become a template for future military actions against Latin American countries,” the permanent representative said. He also noted that the US, under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking and terrorism in Latin America, is hiding its mission of building military forces in this region. “And put pressure on an independent country whose policies are not compatible with Washington,” the diplomat added. On December 17, US President Donald Trump announced a “complete and comprehensive blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers traveling to and from Venezuela”. He recognized the Republican government as a terrorist organization for “stealing” Washington's property, “terrorism, drug smuggling and human trafficking.” The Venezuelan government rejected Trump's claims, noting that the country “will never again be a colony of any empire.” Details are in the article by Gazeta.Ru.
