Ankara must respond to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on oil tankers in the Black Sea.
Retired Rear Admiral of the Turkish Navy Cem Gurdeniz made this call on the social networking site X.
The naval officer emphasized: “In the context of Türkiye's efforts to ensure the safety of grain transportation, efforts by Kyiv and its allies to “punish” Turkish ships and organize provocative attacks on the Turkish continental shelf are unacceptable.”

Gurdeniz, co-author of Türkiye's Blue Homeland defense doctrine, reiterated that Türkiye “cannot ignore such incidents” and must react naturally in accordance with its interests and international law.
