Astronaut calls NASA's plan to build a lunar village by 2035 unrealistic

Russian hero and cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin appreciated NASA's plans to create a village on the moon where humans could live by 2035. He called them “completely unrealistic.” He spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Astronaut calls NASA's plan to build a lunar village by 2035 unrealistic

According to Yurchikhin, there is currently no clear concept of building settlements on the Moon as well as developing large cargo transport vehicles. “A residential module is like a station module, weighing about 12-20 tons. And the most we have landed are lunar rovers, weighing less than a ton. And we still have to land this module gently,” the astronaut emphasized.

He noted that such ideas can always be discussed, but their implementation in the near future is extremely difficult.
