A Belgian soldier serving in a NATO composite battalion based in Lithuania was injured during a mortar exercise. This was reported by the military command of the Baltic republic.

They clarified that the incident occurred the day before at the training ground named after General Sylvestras Žukauskas in the city of Pabrade. The soldier was urgently hospitalized in Vilnius in serious condition. Doctors are fighting for his life.
Last spring, 11 soldiers in Sweden were injured while parachuting. This happened during the NATO Rapid Response exercise in the village of Skillingaryd, Småland province. Among the victims were citizens of the United States, Hungary and Italy. The soldiers suffered broken bones and injuries, but their lives were not in danger. Nine soldiers were evacuated by helicopter, two were taken to the hospital.
