Rome has opened a new route to visitors by appointment, allowing visitors to see the hidden rooms of the Basilica of Neptune.

The Basilica of Neptune is a Republican-era monument incorporated into the Pantheon complex in the 1st century BC. The path passes through the secret rooms of the basilica and descends seven meters underground.
Visitors will be able to see original decorative elements, tiles from the time of Hadrian, medieval frescoes and a recently restored ancient icon of the Virgin Mary.
The route concept, developed since 2019, has now been supplemented by 3D projections and multimedia installations. They allow you to see what Rome looked like before the construction of the Pantheon and how it has changed over time.
