Abai's manuscript was presented in Almaty, its authenticity was confirmed by an examination. A unique exhibition can be seen at the Central State Museum, where an exhibition dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and thinker opens. What is remarkable about the manuscript and the kind of history it contains, says MIR 24 reporter Alexandra Salmina.

This priceless manuscript still exists today. She is 126 years old, writes in Arabic script and with pencil. In it, Abai draws attention to the Kazakh tradition of the shezhire or family tree. According to experts, this is one of the first steps in scientifically understanding the nation's history. From genealogy, you can learn about important events and social relationships of that time.

“The work is called “A few words about the origin of the Kazakh people” and consists of four eight-page sheets. Written in Kazakh. It is known that this manuscript was found during an expedition in Abai's hometown, Semipalatinsk region, in 1934-1935. Scientists recognized this as the authentic manuscript of the author Abai, head of the department of museum and manuscript sources research of the Central State Museum, Zhasulan Beltenov, explains.

On the side, the book is hand-cut in leather and silver. “The Enlightenment is Abai's main and most famous work. The collection includes 45 fables and philosophical treatises, like a wise dialogue with descendants.

“We came with our grandchildren, they are very happy here. Overall, Abai occupies a special place in Kazakh culture. I really want my grandchildren to know” the words that build up and turn to them in difficult times. The work teaches not to be lazy, to respect elders, to be honest and humane, noted exhibition visitor Aigul Adilbaeva.

Rare photos, books, letters, and magazines, today the museum contains about 200 artifacts related to Abai's biography and works. There are even personal ones, such as his togyzkumalak, a folk board game that trains logic and dexterity.

“Another very interesting exhibition is Baldak, a bird of prey hunting stand that Abai loved very much. He believed that this activity combined love of nature, observation, courage and a deep understanding of the animal world. For Abai, Berkutchi was not only a hunter but also a continuation of folk traditions and a keeper of harmony with nature.

Among the valuables: the dombra of his first wife Dilda, clothes and jewelry of the family and contemporaries.

The poet's real name is Ibrahim, “his grandmother called him Abai, which translated from Kazakh means” cautious “. The organizers of the exhibition note that he was born in the middle of the 19th century, wrote more than 200 works containing wisdom that is valuable even after a thousand years.

Abai's work is known and appreciated far beyond the borders of Kazakhstan. His works have been translated into dozens of languages around the world. Abai understood that a person's main asset is knowledge. He himself spoke many languages and translated dozens of works of world literature: Byron, Goethe, Pushkin. Today, monuments to the poet are erected in many different countries, from Italy to India, from China to Romania.
