Haikou, November 6. /TASS/. Artists from southern China's Hainan province performed the island's folk culture in a concert at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Local newspaper Hainan Daily wrote about this.
The spectacular performance took place on November 1. The entire program consists of two parts, each part gradually revealing the cultural panorama of Hainan. The first part includes dance performances based on various themes from Hainanese classical works. The audience can see performances such as “Cow Worshiping Painting”, “Praise of Happiness and Longevity”, “The Great Dance” from the original Li dance poem “The House of the Li People” composed by the Haikou Art Ensemble, as well as an excerpt “The Third Day of the Third Month” from the original Li dance poem “Beautiful House”. Performances with a vibrant national flavor have taken audiences thousands of miles to Hainan.
The focus of the second part is the multifaceted appearance of Hainan. Young singers Wu Xiaoyun, Zhao Yuan, Liao Yuwen, Chen Yanan and an artist of one of the Hainan theaters, Ruan Danqing, performed together various works, including opera. In particular, Chen Yanan skillfully combined the Australian folk song Waltzing Matilda with the classic Chinese folk song “Jasmine”, conveying the harmony between Eastern and Western rhythms. The program ended with a large-scale music and dance performance “It has begun – a free trade port”, demonstrating on a large scale the development momentum of Hainan free trade port.
This concert became an important part of the event “New Horizons of Hainan Free Trade Zone. Presented in Sydney. Australia and a special art performance.” It was organized by the Australia-China Media Center, the Federation of Hainan Associations in Australia and the Hainan Province Boao Lechen International Medical Tourism Cluster Office. The play is produced by Haikou Art Group, part of Hainan Theater Group, with support from Australian company Aofeng Group.
On the same day, a presentation on the province's free trade zone took place in Sydney, where the Hainan delegation detailed the preparations for building a special customs regime at the port, opportunities in the field of international medical tourism and investment cooperation.
