“5 thousand applications were submitted for the award – from heads of relevant departments, cultural and educational institutions, as well as creative groups and cultural projects,” the announcement stated.
As Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Sergei Pershin noted, in the field of culture there are many awards and other forms of recognition for those involved in art, but there are also cultural workers whose work cannot be seen by viewers – these are managers.
“There are currently more than 90 thousand cultural organizations in our country, this is a unique system, the likes of which are not found in the world. And in all of these organizations – from large federal-scale organizations to city cultural centers in the most remote regions of the country – there are managers whose decisions influence the development of the entire industry. To support this target audience and recognize their contribution to the common cause, the National Award Gia for Manager in the field of culture,” the Deputy Minister is quoted on the website of the Ministry of Culture.
The expert panel that will evaluate the participants consists of 48 people. Among them are representatives of government agencies and directors of state cultural institutions, representatives of federal public organizations, experts in the field of culture, public administration and strategic development, as well as public figures.

About the prize
The award includes 5 main nominations: “Head of a management agency in the field of culture”, “Head of a cultural organization”, “Head of a creative group or group”, “Head of a project in the field of culture”, “Head of an educational institution in the field of culture”. In each award, winners will be awarded at three levels: federal, regional and municipal. There are also 3 special nominations: “Mentor”, “Young Leader” and “OWN Culture”.
The award ceremony for the winners of the National Cultural Manager Award will take place at the end of November.
