Suspended rector of St. Petersburg (SPbSUP) Alexander Zapesotsky denies accusations of embezzlement.
Speaking at the press conference, he commented on a Kommersant newspaper article, explaining the cost of business class flights in accordance with his age and status.
“The business class flight was taken, yes, of course, I am an elderly person, I need certain conditions to work. The status of the head of the university and the state of health are enough reasons to buy this class ticket,” convey Letter of interest to RIA news.
The former principal also admitted to making purchases at the Apple store from the university's bank account but claimed to have returned everything.
Kommersant previously wrote that the rector of the St. Petersburg accused of spending 74 million rubles on travel and restaurants.
