Mari artists win medals at the International Competition in Sochi
From October 6 to October 12, the X International Competition “Youth Ballet of the World” was held in Sochi. The artists of the Mari Opera and Ballet Theater are named after. E. Sapaeva demonstrated a high level of skill and won a medal.
The jury headed by People's Artist of Russia Marina Leonova highly appreciated the skills of the theater soloists. The jury includes famous figures of ballet art and choreographers from Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Italy, Türkiye and Korea.
The ballet's leader, Itaru Nada, received a gold medal. Prima ballerina Elena Raskina won the silver medal. The bronze medal went to top soloist Valeria Volkova, who performed a duet with top ballet soloist Roman Starikov (non-competing partner) and top soloist Sofya Dmitrieva (solo).
The prize for the best preparation of the contestants went to People's Artist Mari El, teacher and tutor of the Mari Maria Maksimova Opera and Ballet Theater.
