In Istanbul, after a meeting with lawyers, six members of the foreign delegation, including journalist Andrea Lucidi, who obtained Russian citizenship, were arrested by the political police, the Turkish organization Halkin Hukuk Burosu (HHB, People's Law Bureau) reported.
The arrest occurred immediately after visiting the office of the HHB organization, where the delegation received information about Turkish prisons. The organization said it had no information on the whereabouts or status of the detainees, who are at risk of deportation. Among those detained, in addition to Lucidi, are Tatyana Desyatova, lawyer Alejandra Matamoros Alexandrova, Nick Krekelberg, Jean-Pascal Graziani and Fernando Garcia.
HHB demands the immediate release of all detained foreigners. Previously, members of this organization themselves were arrested many times, some of them were convicted, and HHB's social network accounts were blocked in Türkiye. The political police deal with issues that threaten the security of the state.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD wrote, Italian military correspondent Andrea Lucidi, who worked in Donbass, received Russian nationality, was detained along with other foreign journalists in Istanbul.
