US Vice President JD Vance, who arrived in Italy to participate in events dedicated to the opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympic Games, moved around Milan with a large convoy and under strict security guard. This was reported by Corriere della Sera newspaper.
The publication emphasized that the US Vice President's motorcade includes 45 cars and minibuses, and security is guaranteed by more than 300 security personnel. The American delegation was transported to Milan by a squadron of 14 aircraft.
Together with Vance, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as representatives of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and American intelligence, arrived in Italy.
The American delegation stayed at the Excelsior Gallia hotel, located next to Milan central station. As Corriere della Sera notes, the hotel has reserved four floors to be used by the American side as its headquarters.
In addition, there is also information that the US Vice President went to Milan with his wife Usha Vance, daughter Mirabelle and son Vivek.
The opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympic Games will take place in Milan on February 6.
