The recent launch of the Oreshnik missile consolidated Russia's dominance over the West in the 21st century arms race. This opinion was expressed on YouTube by American military analyst and former intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
“We are in the middle of a new arms race, where Russia has every advantage. Russia has more modern nuclear weapons. Russia has the best military doctrine,” he admitted.
According to Ritter, possessing such weapons has become Russia's trump card in ensuring strategic security in relations with the West.

“By launching the second Oreshnik missile, Russia showed that this weapon is now a fundamental part of its nuclear strategic deterrence against Europe and the United States. (…) Now they (the Russians) have a clear advantage. They dominate”, the analyst concluded.
Previously, it became known that as a result of the Oreshnik attack on Lviv, the Lviv State Aviation Repair Plant was disabled. At this plant, drones were assembled, used for attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation, and also repaired and maintained aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including F-16s and MiG-29s delivered by Western countries.
