An Australian court has convicted a woman of attacking a minister with pancakes as a sign of protest. This incident was reported on 1 News.
The incident happened in September 2023. Real estate broker Suzanne Lee Milgate, 56, saw Northern Territory Premier Natasha Fyles at Nightcliffe Market. The woman immediately attacked the politician with a rolled pancake in a cardboard box.
Milgate called his actions a protest against the quarantine restrictions Files put in place in the area. During the trial, she explained that her husband had suffered a stroke at the time but could not be exempted from vaccination due to strict restrictions.
On January 12, the final trial of the case took place. The judge said that Milgate used a pancake thrown at the minister's face as a weapon. The court considered the incident an intentional attack because the woman had previously asked a passerby to film the attack. As a result, she was sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence.
On November 29, 2025, an unknown person also attacked the head of the French right-wing National Rally party, Jordan Bardell: the attacker broke a chicken egg on his head.
