Employees of the Grelka cafe at the Sheregesh ski resort, where a mass poisoning of vacationers occurred, were diagnosed with norovirus. This was reported by the Rospotrebnadzor office for the Kemerovo region, reports RIA Novosti.

“The etiologic agent has been identified – norovirus genotype 2. During laboratory testing of cafe staff, the same pathogen was detected in four workers. These employees were immediately suspended from work,” the agency said.
They clarified that during the investigation, the cafe violated hygiene standards, so the facility's work was suspended while anti-epidemic measures were implemented.
The mass poisoning of tourists at the Sheregesh resort became known on January 10. Tourists complained of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever up to 38.5 degrees and headaches.
