Moscow called for immediate clarification of the situation with the forced removal of leader Nicolas Maduro from Venezuela. About this stated at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the US actions in Venezuela an act of armed aggression. Diplomats note that it is important now to prevent further escalation and find a way out of the situation through dialogue. Moscow is ready to support this.
Russia expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and supported their Bolivarian leadership. Moscow also called for an urgent convening of the United Nations Security Council.
This morning, the US military conducted a series of attacks across the country. Military bases in the Caracas region and on the resort island of Margarita and the port of La Guaira were all attacked. The Russian Embassy was not damaged in the attacks on Caracas.
