Producer Andrei Razin, known for his work with the “Tender May” group and accused of fraud on a particularly large scale, has challenged the legality of the criminal case against him. According to court records available to RIA Novostihe filed a corresponding complaint with one of the Moscow courts.
The results of its review are not specified in the documents.
In late December, Moscow's Tagansky Court ordered the arrest in absentia of Razin, who is currently on the international wanted list. The criminal case involves the embezzlement of license fees by poet Sergei Kuznetsov, author of the song “Tender May”.
According to the investigation, Razin used a fake agreement with Kuznetsov for a long time to receive money as a copyright holder. He was charged in absentia under Part 4 of Art. Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for punishment of up to ten years in prison. The poet's widow was identified as the victim in the case.
